Originally from Scotland but now representing the Ontario, Canada music scene, Lyle Oliver is a singer-songwriter who consistently pours his heart and soul into his creations. In his first solo release, "Hold On," the artist reflects on deep themes prevalent in country music, such as the struggles of a couple who everyone admires but who are facing serious problems. We thoroughly enjoyed this single and genuinely believe everyone who listens will as well.

To prepare for this newest release, we listened to his past collaboration tracks like "Stars and Stripes" and "This Means War." After making the comparison, we found that "Hold On" represents a fantastically progressive departure from his previous work. In this scenario, Lyle has embraced a more traditional country sound, which feels like the realm where he is most comfortable and excels the most.

With much more music on the way in terms of Lyle-specific releases, this first single was a total doozy and a perfect baseline for what existing and new listeners can expect in the future. In our opinion, especially with much of today’s country music sounding similar, Lyle has dared to reinvent the genre by emphasizing clever songwriting. Not to mention, his silky smooth vocals add to our overwhelmingly positive remarks on this song.

Honestly, it’s shaping up to be a massive year for this artist in 2022, which is why we’ll undoubtedly keep our eyes and ears on everything set to come. We hope you do as well.
